THE COMMANDO SHUFFLE

The event will be run from Friday 21th - to - Sunday 23rd September 2012.

The Command Shuffle is a very demanding 30 mile, (48k) Ultra multi terrain challenge, including open moorland and exposed sections. This is designed as a team event and for safety reasons to be organised into teams / syndicates of 4 or more. The routes will be over footpaths, bridleways and quiet country roads over Dartmoor National Park, from Okehampton Camp to Moorlands Bridge. The walks take you through areas not always open to the general public.

Monty Hall recounts: 

Any Royal Marine will vividly recall their thirty miler, the final hurdle before attaining the green beret. My personal 30 miler is forever seared on my brain, as I staggered and stumbled over the moor until the finish line hove into view. Crossing it remains one of the greatest moments of my life. This is a great endeavour for two terrific charities – you may finish a gibbering ruin, but you will be assured of bragging rights in the bar for many years to come! Every step you take counts, and every penny raised will be used to help men and women who have given that little bit extra to ensure our safety and security. The best of luck, and remember that pain is merely weakness escaping from the body!

Our kind and brave supporters the IGP Team who last year conquered the skydive have taken on this years challenge of the Command Shuffle an even braver and more gruelling challenge, we wish every member a safe return and every good wish in their fund raising endeavours, with thanks.
